If you'r ehitting a wall, try it one step at a time - break your challenge into more do-able chunkc

If you’re aching to get unstuck in your career, deciding what to do can be daunting. Instead of being overwhelmed by the challenges before you, why not break them down into smaller chunks and tackle them one at a time?

As the infographic above illustrates, you’ve probably tried to make some changes in your career before, but you haven’t been successful. Something always seems to get in the way. The wall is too high. Perhaps it’s hard to muster the dedication to do things differently, and after a time, you fall back into your old habits. Perhaps someone in power has told you, “No!” – and you’ve decided not to try again. Or perhaps the fear of failure looms large in your mind, causing you to keep your feet firmly planted where you are now. At least standing still feels “safe” in your career- only it’s not.

For many of us, dealing with change feels something like running into a brick wall, like the poor stick figure on the left side of my diagram.

A better way – one step at a time

What if there was another way – a simpler, more methodical way to increase your influence in your job, to command more respect from key executives in positions of power? What if there was a way to break your really big career challenge down into a series of smaller steps, and then move forward, one step at a time? The cumulative effect could be astounding!

Like the stick figure ascending the stairs on the right side of my diagram, you can move forward toward your goal, , one step at a time, with much less stress and anxiety. In fact, as you begin to gain momentum, you’ll probably get excited and start to wonder what ELSE is possible in your life and career. That excitement will propel you forward toward a more fun, fulfilling and rewarding future!
